Certified Wildlife Habitats\u00ae<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n


There are over 332,000 Certified Wildlife Habitats\u00ae<\/strong> worldwide. This map shows Certified Wildlife Habitats\u00ae<\/strong> in each state, shaded by count per 100,000 population. <\/p>\n\n

In 2025, we recruited over 15,000 new Certified Wildlife Habitats\u00ae<\/strong> to support our Native Plant Habitat Impact suite of programs. <\/strong>Over 30 State Affiliates operate the Certified Wildlife Habitat\u00ae<\/strong> program across their states. <\/p>\n\n

Certified Wildlife Habitats\u00ae<\/strong> is one program in our suite of community-based conservation programs, which comprise an estimated 4 million native plant habitat acres created in  suburban yards, rural properties, urban gardens, school districts, colleges and universities, small businesses; places of worship; public gardens, and community spaces across North America and at embassies around the world. Programs include Community Wildlife Habitat<\/a>\u2122, Schoolyard Habitats<\/a>\u00ae, Sacred Grounds<\/a>\u2122,  Mayors\u2019 Monarch Pledg<\/a>e and Trees for Wildlife\u2122<\/a>. We continue to expand through the ongoing leadership of NWF\u2019s national and regional staff and state affiliates<\/a>. <\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n
