At a Wakulla County Garden event, 989 trees were given away to community members. Out of the 900 people who attended, most were teens and children. And almost half of the residents who attended were new participants in the tree giveaway! Species planted: live oak, willow oak, red maple, chalk maple, pignut hickory, green ash, blackgum (sourgum), American elm, bald cypress, redbud, and elderberry.
